Why I chose Bookshop.org (and Why You’ll Love It Too)

If you’ve had a little nosey around the website or socials (hi, welcome!), you might’ve spotted the shiny bookshop — lovingly set up through Bookshop.org.

Now, you might be wondering:
“Why Bookshop.org? Why not one of those other giant online retailers that shall not be named?”

Well, here’s the simple truth:
I love a good local bookshop. The creaky floors, the slightly wonky shelves, the enthusiastic staff who somehow always know the perfect book to recommend. And Bookshop.org? They get that. In fact, supporting independent bookshops is literally their whole mission.

Here’s how they put it:

“Bookshop.org is an online bookshop with a mission to financially support local, independent bookshops.
We believe that bookshops are essential to a healthy culture. They are where authors can connect with readers, where we discover new writers, where children get hooked on the thrill of reading that can last a lifetime…”

Even better — every time you buy through my Bookshop storefront, not only are you supporting indie bookstores, but you’re also helping keep this blog (and my ever-growing personal book addiction) afloat. Yes, I earn a small commission when you shop through my links. No, I will not apologise for spending it on new releases and fancy bookmarks.

I’ve tried to make it super easy, too:

  • You can search for any book through the shop.

  • I’ve curated a reading list of books currently out and about on their travels (you’ll know what that means soon).

  • Each book’s profile page on the app has a link straight to that book on the Bookshop.

So go ahead — treat yourself, or grab some gifts.
I mean… dare I say it… Christmas is coming. 🎁📚
